Insurance Claims

Filing a storm damage insurance claim can be a frustrating and confusing process. Flo-Dell Exterior Restoration is here to help. Below are lessons we have learned along the way. By sharing these lessons our goal is to help our clients deal with their claim in a timely manner and to lower the stress and frustration that accompanies all of us while chartering new waters.

Insurance Company Facts

Most insurance policies limit your time to file a claim, so don’t wait until you have water dripping through the ceiling, mold in the attic, or your roof caves in to call your insurance company. If your home has been damaged, remember continued exposure to the elements may greatly increase the amount of damage to you home. Don’t wait! File your claim quickly or it might be too late.

Be Wary

Be wary of insurance company “approved” contractors who have a financial incentive to save the insurance company money at your expense. We sometimes find it necessary to be listed as a preferred vendor on an insurance companies list. This is not always a bad thing. Sometimes it simply means that we have been checked out and deemed reputable and knowledgeable in our field of expertise. Always ask your contractor point blank if they are representing your interest or the interest of the insurance company. Always protect yourself by hiring a reputable contractor to represent your best interests. You have paid your homeowners insurance, so make sure you get the maximum value for your claim.
